TOC is a critical purity parameter indicating the total amount of organic material present in the water. It is used across pharmaceutical, microelectronics, utility water, and process industries to ensure purity, detect contamination, validate cleaning, and maintain regulatory compliance.
TOC instruments oxidize organic molecules into CO₂, then measure the CO₂ to calculate TOC concentration. Measurement methods differ between manufacturers but generally fall into two groups: TOC analysers and TOC sensors.
